Entrepreneurship seems to be much more prevalent in the US compared to other nations. I’m interesting in understanding why!

Caveat: Being from the UK, I can only look at this from a purely subjective and observational standpoint.

It seems as though Entrepreneurship (or indeed the desire to be an Entrepreneur) is a much bigger thing in the US compared to other nations. Whilst I understand the population of the US may play a large factor in this, I think proportionally people’s sentiments are still very much geared towards owning their own company/product and ‘being their own boss’.

I wonder whether this could be attributed to a generally less-happy workforce within sectors which typically breed more Entrepreneurs (Software, Marketing, Product Development, Consulting) which in turn makes people go it alone, or something else?

I’d love to hear others’ thoughts on this!
